Alyeska Pipeline Service Company

Since the early 1990s, Prince William Sound Community College has worked in partnership with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company to develop training programs to meet regulatory requirements and the special training needs of oil spill response and terminal operations in Port Valdez. In addition to a well-developed employee safety program, the Training Department facilitates development of new courses customized to meet Alyeska’s business objectives.

In conjunction with Alyeska’s Ship Escort and Response Vessel System (SERVS), the PWSCC facilitates annual specialized training for the crews of more than 350 fishing vessels designated to respond to an oil spill in Prince William Sound. Training is also provided in coastal communities throughout the region for wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.

In partnership with Alyeska Pipeline Services, Prince William Sound Community College is proud to offer the Industrial Technology Scholarship. For more details on this scholarship opportunity click here or call 907-834-1640.

Shell Oil and Arctic Slope Regional Corporation

In preparation of their 2008 field season, Shell Oil through its industry partner worked with the PWSCC Training Department to provide required first-aid, CPR, OSHA, ICS and OSHA classes in a one month academy held at the Valdez campus of the college.

With the availability of on campus housing and using an integrated approach to the training, Shell Oil was able to provide reliant, cost effective training to their Alaska employees. The Training Department anticipates another academy will be conducted for Shell in 2009.

Local Public Service Utilities

The Training Department provides safety training to Cooper Valley Telephone Cooperative and Copper Valley Electric Association who both operate in Glennallen and Valdez vicinities.
